three celebrations were organized
in the Church of Saint Catherine of Siena
The funeral vigil was organized by
Br. Jordan Kelly OP on the Sunday evening of the Feast of Corpus Domini,
June 2.
An endless line of friends, consecrated and lay people, members of movements and religious groups as well as people never met before, came to greet Giovannimaria.
At the Mass on the morning of June 3, celebrated with the doctors and staff of the nearby hospitals, the many health workers present, were able greet Thurs
placed at the foot of the side altar
of St. Jude Thaddeus.
The funeral was celebrated at 10.00
by Br. John Farren OP, Br. Jordan Kelly OP,
Br. Enrique Except , Br. George Witt SJ,
Br Jona OP and Br. Peter OP.
A beautiful party, also present the friends of the schools, wonderful songs were performed.
FIRST MEMORIAL 30 May 2014
On the initiative of a benefactress,
on May 30, 2014,
on the occasion of the
Commemorative mass of the first anniversary
of the birth of Gio in heaven ,
in the Church of Santa Caterina
a plaque was placed in his memory.
The plaque was placed in the side chapel, specially renovated
and dedicated to Christ the High Priest
by reason of the
" deference of his great love (of Gio) and of his friendship with many priests in the world " as indicated by Br. Jordan Kelly.
In the same chapel they are also found
the statue of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and those
of San Pio da Pietralcina and San Giovanni Maria Vianney, among the favorites of Gio.
